Let’s look at the definiton of the word responsible:
re·spon·si·ble/rəˈspänsəb(ə)l/adjective
- having an obligation to do something, or having control over or care for someone, as part of one’s job or role.”the department responsible for education”
Having control over or care for someone. This means You! Right? Now when you’re a child it’s your parents responsibility to care for you and teach you how to eventually care for yourself. And, you must learn through experience how to care for yourself. And not let other people, idea’s, philosophy’s or ideology’s influence you. Does that mean don’t read, listen to people, watch T.V or exchange idea’s with other’s? No, absolutely not.
To have control over or care for yourself, though, means taking responsibility for what you let into your mind. And once you let that information in, whether it’s visual, auditory, or kinesthetic you have an obligation to yourself to see if it’s true or not, instead of just letting it affect you without testing the theory or idea behind it. Because, if you just let it slide into your mind and don’t find out whether it’s true or not, it can affect your thinking which then affects your feelings and behavior. Always, always, always after seeing, reading or feeling something stop, reflect, contemplate and try to find the truth behind that sensation. Don’t let others tell you what is right, truthful, correct or positive!
Love & Peace,
