The title says it all. There are a lot of “Hypnotherapists” out there who purport to know what they’re doing but I think something is amiss with their training. Do you know anyone who has been to a hypnotherapist and the person still has that nagging problem and complains about spending their hard earned money on therapy that didn’t work?
The reason this happens is because there are a lot of so called therapists who use hypnosis and all they know about it is what they learned over a weekend. I have been learning and using hypnosis for over four years now and I know I have the skills necessary to help anyone with almost any problem, but, that’s because I have been continually studying and practicing hypnosis on a consistent basis over the last four years. And I still know there’s lots of things to learn about hypnosis and so I continue to grow and learn about hypnosis and stay abreast of new research into the human mind and practice hypnosis constantly.
But back to why I am writing this. Some people i’ve read about and some that I have met have a negative story to tell about how they went to a supposed hypnotist who promised them relief of their problem and the therapy didn’t work. I hate to say this but lots of hypnotists today use scripts while performing hypnosis. They get a client into a shallow trance and then read a pre-written script at the person. Most times the hypnotist didn’t even write what he/she is reading.
To be a good Hypnotherapist you must be able to fit the therapy to the client. In order to do this you must be a good communicator, a good listener, a good empathizer and you must be able to fit what you know about hypnosis to what the client needs help with. If all you do is get a client into a light trance and then read a script at them you are not helping that person really in my opinion.
If they can’t get a client into a sufficient trance, use real skills at implementing a healing technique that is suitable for the clients issue then what they’re doing is not much more than trying to fit a round peg into a square hole. And the client’s issue isn’t resolved and they’ve wasted their hard earned money for nothing.
True you can use a generic script for, say, anxiety but if they’re using that script for anxiety and the client has a phobia, which differs from anxiety, then their help, in my opinion, is way less effective or even non-effective. And if that’s the case the “Hypnotherapist” doesn’t really know what they are doing. Anyone can use a hammer but not everyone can build a house.
Make sure to check and see if there is anything written negatively about the hypnotist and if there’s any doubt on your part that the therapy didn’t work come to me and i’ll straighten it out for you and get you back on track to living a wholesome and healthy life.
